Groupage Road Freight Between Europe and Türkiye
Groupage road freight — part loads, consolidated cargo, LTL — is our core business and has been since 1998. We run 14 recorded corridors between Europe and Türkiye with five own terminals in Italy, and we publish the transit time measured on each of them rather than an estimate.
What we actually do
High-level groupage road freight between Europe and Türkiye, in both directions, since 1998. Part loads: your goods share a vehicle rather than filling one.
The measurable version of that is 14 recorded corridors carrying 9,990 shipments, five own terminals in Italy, and a transit time published for every lane — all of them here, with the spread rather than just the average.
Why we publish measured times
Most transit figures in this industry are estimates, and they tend to be optimistic ones. Ours come from status records in our own operating system: 41,308 of them logged against 10,224 shipment files. The method is set out in full on how we measure, including the cases where we decided a recorded value was not good enough to publish.
The reason for the transparency is not principle alone. If you are scheduling production against an arrival date, an optimistic average is worse than useless — you need the range. So every corridor page carries the fastest and slowest recorded case next to the mean.
The Italian network
Five terminals — Milano, Vicenza, Torino, Bologna, Firenze — through a joint company with our Italian partner Insped Srl, trading as Insped General Cargo Srl.
Italy carries 85.2 % of our recorded volume, and the terminal network is why that lane is also one of the quicker ones. Collection happens on the Italian domestic leg, consolidation is finished at the terminal, and the vehicle departs for Türkiye full. The single biggest drag on a part-load transit is a consignment waiting for its trailer to fill — a five-terminal network shortens exactly that wait.
What actually sets the transit time
Not the odometer. Poland averages 5.7 days and Germany 6.0, despite Poland lying further east. Portugal is the one lane where distance genuinely dominates.
Everywhere else, two things govern the number: how quickly a departing vehicle fills, and how long the customs file takes. The first is a function of volume on the lane. The second is the reason customs sits inside our group rather than being bought in — in groupage, one incomplete file holds the whole trailer.
Door to door, one organisation
Transport, customs clearance and cargo insurance run through three companies in one group. You send one set of shipment details, and the people preparing the declaration are the people who can see the file.
Send us the collection address, the goods, the weight and dimensions, and we will confirm the terminal and what the transit looks like on that route.
Frequently asked questions
What is groupage, and when does it make sense?
Groupage means your consignment shares a vehicle with other shippers' goods instead of filling one on its own. It makes sense whenever your volume does not fill a trailer: you pay for the space you use rather than for a whole vehicle, and the consolidation happens at a terminal before departure.
How long does a shipment take?
It depends on the lane, and we publish the figure for each one. Across our recorded corridors the average transit ranges from 3.9 days to 12.2. Every corridor page shows the average alongside the fastest and slowest case we recorded, because a mean without its range is not something you can plan against.
What determines the transit time?
Less than people expect is driving. What governs the total is how long the consignment waits for a departing vehicle to fill, and how long customs takes. That is why lanes at very different distances land within a day of each other — and why Poland runs faster than Germany despite lying further east.
What do you need from me for a quote?
The collection address, what the goods are, their weight and dimensions, and the delivery address. If the commodity has any special requirement we should know about it early, because it may bring documents with it. We do not publish rates — pricing depends on those specifics.
Do you handle customs and insurance too?
Yes, both inside the group: customs brokerage through General Gümrük Müş. Ltd. and cargo insurance through Servis Sigorta Ar. Hiz. Ltd. For a part load that matters more than for a full one — an incomplete customs file holds up the whole trailer, not just one consignment.
Do you carry freight east of Türkiye?
No. Our recorded shipments are all between Europe and Türkiye. Where cargo arrives in Türkiye via the Middle Corridor from further east, we handle the European leg of its journey — but we do not operate the corridor itself and do not claim to.
